Making Water Hash - Making water hash yourself like bubble hash, ice-o-lator or ice hash!

Water hash owes its name to the fact that it can be made by means of water and ice. Contrary to a solvent extraction with butane or alcohol, in which the extracting is done on the basis of polarity, the water in this extraction method does not act as a solvent. Because cannabinoids, like THC and CBD are hydrophobic, which literally translates as being afraid of water, they will not be soluble in water.

Ice water makes trichomes separate easier

By using ice water the trichomes will however be separated much easier from the plant material, which means the collecting of trichomes becomes easy to do. This is done with the help of several extraction bags which each have a bottom with sift holes. Each sieve bag has holes of different sizes, which are indicated in microns. The advantage to a solvent extraction in comparison, is that there is no chemical process taking place and no possible harmful residues can be left behind in the extract.
